LUMBERTON — Two Robeson County men have been arrested in the shooting death of a 45-year-old Shannon man.

Sylvester Treshawn McNair, 19, of 685 St. James Circle, Lumberton, and Jonavan Eric Leach, 21, of 647 McBridge Road, Red Springs, are charged with first-degree murder, robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon.

They are accused of killing James Marcellus Floyd, of 1145 Crenshaw Road, whose body was found inside his Shannon home on Wednesday.

Both McNair and Leach are being held without bond at the Robeson County jail.

Sheriff’s Maj. Anthony Thompson said investigators found Floyd’s body after receiving a call from a 21-year-old St. Pauls man who was visiting the home. Thompson said Floyd knew at least one of his alleged killers. Several items were stolen from Floyd’s home.

Jail records show that Leach has been in jail for simple assault, assault on a female, drunk and disruptive conduct, failure to appear and multiple probation violations. McNair was jailed in February 2011 for larceny.
