Bladenboro’s city park is decades behind the times.
I took my grandkids to the city park Sunday and, while there, I was talking with another adult resident of Bladenboro. We were both frustrated that, one, the grass was knee high and, second, how outdated the park is. The same rides and swings are the same as they were when I took my children there 25 years ago.
The town has splashed a new coat of paint on the same old rides, but that’s like buying a 1972 Nova and giving it a new paint job, when you get down to it, it’s still a ‘72 Nova.
Just by lowering the town manager’s salary 10 percent, that money could be put into the city park and even build a senior citizen’s walking track — the park is large enough to hold one. The town government should not be paying out that type of money to town officals for a town this small.
Bladenboro, we need a change in town government from top to bottom, so get out and vote this November for a different direction in Bladenboro.
